The price of a mom: $138,095

This is the link for reference: http://articles.moneycentral.msn.com/CollegeAndFamily/RaiseKids/ThePriceOfAMom.aspx?GT1=10019&f=25&MSPPError=-2147197912&lc=1033

After the tears stopped flowing from the laughter just reading the headline I checked to see what woman wrote the article. They were so ashamed they wouldn't even attach a name to it, just MSN Staff. They were probably being threatened with a lawsuit or something from some left wing mom organization.

The first claim, they work 92 hours a week. That would leave less than 3 hours a day free time once your add in sleeping 8 hours a day. Most women I know can spend that much time a day shopping, so they must only work, shop, and sleep. They list 10 jobs they used to base this salary on.

Housekeeper: Not much here, they may not speak english, but you can get a housekeeper for minimum wage - less depending on immigration status.

Day Care Center Teacher: Seems to me the vast majority of mom's today just tell their kids no, but don't actually follow it up with any teaching when they do otherwise. Seems like a zero should be inserted here.

Cook: Cook is the operative word, not chef. Minimum wage here. The man in the house would be considered a chef - so be worth 5 to 10 times as much.

Computer Operator: What, check email and chat with other moms? We call this entertainment, although admittedly the men are usually talking to different types of women online.

Laundry Machine Operator: First, this should be lumped in with Housekeeper. Second, Laundry Machine Repairmen (which we have to do when it breaks down) make 5 to 10 times as much as someone stuffing clothes in it that probably led to breaking it in the first place.

Janitor: Are we calling Housekeeper by yet a third job title? If anything this would be the male who takes out the garbage. Assuming he remembers it. Doesn't like trip over it and miss it going out the door to work in the morning then she has to do it.

Van Driver: You expect to be paid to drive yourself shopping?

Facilities Manager: You expect to be paid because most of the time we let you have your way to avoid an argument?

Psychologist: You can't even figure out why you tell your kid "no" and he doesn't respond, and you think you're a Psychologist? If anything the male has become the Psychologist trying to even remotely understand women.

Man: Is something wrong?
Woman: No (meaning yes)
Man: What's wrong?
Woman: Nothing (meaning everything)

Woman: Does this dress make me look fat?
Man: No (accused of lying) Yes (you should have lied)

Woman: Do you love me like you used to love me before you loved me like you love me now?
Man: Huh?
Woman: You don't love me anymore!

The list goes on.

And last but not least this salary is based on being a CEO: So really what we're saying is this only applies to the 1:20 households where the man doesn't wear the pants in the family.
